I went for a short trip with my brother the other weekend and he said to me that on Instagram it seems that I’m always quite busy doing exciting stuff and always being on the go, when in real life I seemed so peaceful and always longing for me-time and some peace and quiet. What to do when all that people can see in you is the pretty face and the big smile. Thinking you’re this little miss sunshine, enjoying life to the fullest, traveling often and only knowing the bright side of life. Nothing wrong with that right?! Cause that’s how you present yourself to the world. On social media, but also in real life.
What to do when your life’s pleasure and deepest wish is fulltime travel. As a way of life or maybe as some kind of profession. Where to start when there is duty’s calling, mortgage waiting to be paid, 9 to 5 job’s waiting to be done and Monday’s always lurking around the corner, waiting to put us back to reality. Telling us to be realistic. That there’s no such thing like earning money with a hobby or something you actually enjoy doing. Society, family and friends are always there to remind us not to get lost in day dreaming and that fun times are reserved for holiday’s, vacations and the weekends. Mostly its well-meant advice to protect us from doing something silly, stupid or something we might regret. But although those things are said to us with the best intentions, I don’t think it’s wise to listen and to live by them. There are many studies that prove that most people regret the things they haven’t done rather than the things they did.
