Bali | My favorite to do list

Bali Uluwatu Indonesia Ubud Travel Temple

We’ve heard so many beautiful stories about Bali from our family and friends that we had to go and see for ourselves. It turned out to be one of our best trip’s ever. Although the streets in places like Ubud or Seminyak can be a little bit crazy and overwhelming, there is always some kind of tranquility and peace breathing through everything the local people do. There is always that friendly smile on their faces and it doesn’t matter if they are burning incense, cooking or working in the rice field, they always look calm and easy going.

Dubrovnik | Medival beauty with a modern twist

Right now I live in The Netherlands and I call this country my home for the past eighteen years. As much as I love my life here there’s always this little flame burning for my home country Croatia. It’s a popular holiday destination but for me it’s so much more than that. I was born there and spent the first ten years of my life there. I still speak the language and love to connect with the local people when I’m there as well as all of my family still living in various parts of the country. Originally I’m from Vukovar, the eastern part of Croatia with beautiful cities, villages and an agricultural and rural vibe. However, through the years I’ve fallen in love with the coast of Istria and Dalmatia. I don’t know if you’ve even been there but you should definitely go and visit. In this post I’m going to zoom in on the beautiful city of Dubrovnik. Even if you’re not a fan of Game of Thrones, you should go and see it for yourself.

Lanzarote | La isla Bonita

Lanzarote, one of the Canary Islands. Known for it’s volcanic nature and the wonderful climate all year long. To be honest I was a bit sceptic when friends of mine suggested a trip to the island. The idea I had about the place was one of all-inclusive resorts, mass tourism and a dull landscape. I know, I know… I should’ve known better. It doesn’t mean that Lanzarote doesn’t know mass tourism, but the island is big enough to avoid that. It turned out to be one of our best trip’s. Let me tell you about my marvelous experience with this Spanish beauty.

Jordan | Why we fell in love with this country

I’m not sure if it was the food, the friendly people, the historical heritage, the nature or the beautiful sea, but Jordan has definitely stolen our hearts the moment we laid our eyes on it. One thing is for sure, you should visit it as soon as possible and in this post I’ll try to explain why. This awesome trip started in the capital of Jordan, Amman. We flew from Amsterdam Schiphol to Amman Airport in about 7 1/2 hours with Turkish Airlines. We had an one hour stop at Istanbul and traveling with Turkish Airlines was a great experience. Starting with kind attendants, no delay and good food (as far as that’s possible on an airplane).

Porto | My 6 favorite food spots

Portugal is well known for it’s beautiful beaches and warm climate. The best circumstances for a long vacation or a short trip. But there is one more reason to visit this beautiful country, the food! Last year we’ve been traveling through Portugal for three weeks and had the best time along the way. During our vacation we’ve also visited Porto for five days and I must say, we’ve fallen in love with the city. Not only our beautiful, serviced apartment that we hired trough By Oporto and the endless, lovely streets of the city, but also the food we ate there. There are tons of great restaurants and bistro’s and I’m going to share with you our favorites.
